FileMaker Inc. is a computer software company formed in 1998 from the vestiges of Claris as a wholly owned subsidiary of Apple Inc. FileMaker develops, supports and markets the relational database program FileMaker. FileMaker is available for both Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows operating systems and is aimed towards business use, or home users with high-end needs. The Bento database product aimed at the home user or basic small business user has been discontinued.
